If you’re tired of feeding your family the traditional deep fried fries, you’ll love this easy, delicious alternative! Sweet potatoes are a healthy alternative to traditional white potatoes and offer a great nutritional boost.
With all the flexibility this recipe allows, you’ll never have to eat it the same way twice and best of all, kids won’t miss the traditional greasy variety!
Baked Sweet Potato Fries:
1 medium to large sized sweet potato, sliced into strips 1
Tablespoon olive oil
Place sweet potatoes in bowl and drizzle olive oil and salt. Toss to evenly coat.
Put on a non-stick cookie sheet and cook in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes, or until brown.
Flip and cook approximately 2 more minutes.
Serve immediately. These do not store well and should be eaten right away.
Alternatives and substitutions:
For a little kick, you can add cayenne or chili pepper with the olive oil and sea salt.
If you would like a little sweeter flavor, you can add a sprinkle of cinnamon and 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon sugar.
