Jennifer Lawrence has become one of Hollywood’s most liked and most accomplished actresses on the big screen. “Garden Party” was released in 2008. Lawrence played the role of Tiffany or “Tiff” in a film about a group of confused teens that find solace in the fact that they are all chasing their dreams. Lawrence does not play a major role in the film, but definitely gets her acting feet wet.
“The Poker House” was released in 2008 and stars Lawrence as Agnes, the oldest daughter of three. Agnes is brutally raped by her mother’s boyfriend who is using their house for prostitution and gambling. This is Lawrence’s first real film role.
“The Burning Plain” was released in 2009 and Lawrence plays the role of Mariana. She stars alongside Charlize Theron and Kim Basinger. The screenplay was written by Guillermo Arriaga, the same man who wrote the screenplay for the award winning film “Babel.”
“Winter’s Bone” was released in 2010 and Lawrence plays the role of Ree Dolly. Lawrence plays the lead in this heart-wrenching role of an Ozark mountain girl trying to restore her family by finding her drug-dealing father. Lawrence was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role at the Academy Awards.
“Like Crazy” was released in 2011 and Lawrence plays the role of Sam. This is a romantic drama and features two students falling in love on opposite sides of the pond.
“The Beaver” was released in 2011 and Lawrence plays the role of Norah. Lawrence plays alongside Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster.
“X-Men: First Class” was released in 2011 and Lawrence plays the role of Mystique. This is quite a different role for Lawrence and she uses it to become more familiar to her growing number of fans.

“Silver Linings Playbook” was released in 2012 and shows Lawrence as a widow with mental instability. She acts alongside Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper. She was ultimately nominated for an Academy Award for this role and won Best Actress.
“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” was released in 2013 and is the second installment in the Hunger Games series. While there are three books, the films are set to breakdown in 4 installments. The last book will be set into two films. Her role as Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” just helped to add to the popularity she has achieved in her hugely successful film career thus far.
“American Hustle” stars Lawrence as a manipulative and cunning woman surrounded by chaos in the 1970’s and early 80s. Directed by David O. Russell, the same director from “Silver Linings Playbook,” the film also stars her previous costar, Bradley Cooper. There is already talk of award buzz for Lawrence in her role as Rosalyn Rosenfeld.
With Lawrence already set to act in the next X-Men film and the next two Hunger Games films, it seems like her film career isn’t going to decline anytime soon. Lawrence has proven herself to be a serious actress with accolades and awards to prove it.
