Plan Your Summer Vacation at Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area in Michigan

The Silver Lake Sand Dunes Area consists of several towns has everything to offer from beaches to rivers to fun rides and games for the whole family.

The Sand Dunes provide Off Road Vehicle (ORV) enthusiasts a challenging course of hills to climb and navigate. The most popular ORV is the Dune Buggy. Many people enjoy parking their vehicle at the top hill and taking in the topographic view. Being near Lake Michigan, you can park your vehicle at the end of the course and go relax at the beach. If you don’t have an ORV, there are a few places to rent a vehicle. Mac Wood’s Dune Ride’s provides a 40 minute tour of the dunes in their large dune buggies.

For those who would like to take in a round of golf there are at least five golf courses including the Grand View Golf Course which has 18 holes and excellent views of rolling hills and woods.

If you want to enjoy the beach, there are six beaches along Lake Michigan and Silver Lake. One of these beaches is Little Sable Lighthouse. Here one can relax on the beach or take in a swim in Lake Michigan. There is also a tour of Little Sable Light House. The tour is $2 and allows you to climb the tower and take in the stunning view from 90 feet. Be sure to bring your camera and take spectacular pictures.

Everyone knows that the children enjoy games and go-karts. There is plenty of this in Silver Lake including Craig’s Cruisers and Fast Trax. Also, West Michigan Sand Dragway is a place for the family to have fun watching people drag-race in the sand for competition. They claim to be the nation’s number one sand drag-racing track.

Hart-Montague State Park provides bikers, walkers and runners a 22 mile scenic trail with picnic areas along the way. The trail was originally used by trains that past the area. While you’re thinking nature, take the whole family on an adventure in the White River. You can rent canoes, kayaks and water rafts from Happy Mohawk Canoe Livery.

As you can see, there is plenty to do for everyone especially during the summertime. With lakes, rivers, beaches sand and boats; what better place to have a fun summer vacation that at Silver Lake Sand Dunes.
