Everyone would like to go on a Disneyland vacation where money was no object. Even if you do not have champagne and caviar taste; it would be nice to stay in a $500 per night hotel, eat at the finest restaurants and take home a bagful of Disney memorabilia. Unfortunately, most people do not have the financial means or vacation budget to live like a millionaire. Just a few days at Disneyland can wind up costing a family of four well over $1,000.

The secret is out. This is the best budget hotel anywhere near Disneyland. You are not going to get the fancy silverware or spa treatments at the Anaheim Express Inn Maingate, but, you will get a very nicely equipped room and comfortable bed. You’ll also get some of the most requested amenities such as a swimming pool, a coin laundry room and a free continental breakfast. Unlike many of the other hotels within walking distance, parking is free. With summer rates right around $65 per night, this is a very smart choice for a family or individuals traveling on a budget.
Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim Garden Grove – 11747 Harbor Boulevard
This Hilton brand is a very nice, moderately priced property located about a mile from the Disney theme park. Every guest room has free WiFi , flat screen TVs and quality bedding. The Inn has an exercise room and a good-sized swimming pool. You can get a complimentary hot breakfast every morning and if you are in a rush you can box up some breakfast and take it in the car. Prices at The Hampton Inn & Suites run about $110 per night. Self-parking at the property’s lot is an additional $12 per day.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Anaheim – Main Gate12005 Harbor Boulevard
Begin the day with a Suite Start hot breakfast at this AAA Three Diamond hotel. This all-suite hotel features very spacious accommodations that include full kitchen facilities. You can save a few dollars by buying some groceries and cooking a few meals “at home.” or you can walk a few blocks and have your choice of a number of fine area restaurants. There is free WiFi in all of the rooms and you can a light meal and a beverage of your choice at the Manager’s Reception held on Monday through Thursday evenings. Suites start at about $150 per night.
Residence Inn Anaheim Resort Area/Garden Grove – 11931 Harbor Boulevard
If you are looking for a place that feels more like home, you might want to book one of the suites in this all-suite hotel. The Residence Inn has the largest suites of any property that is so close to Disneyland. Families will appreciate the fully-equipped kitchen that includes a microwave, twin burner stove top and a full-sized refrigerator. There are separate areas for sleeping and sitting. You can also take advantage of the free WiFi in every room or sit down at the desk and catch up on some work. You will sleep on luxurious Marriott bedding and be well rested for the next day on the town. Guests are served a hot breakfast buffet in the morning and can attend a free Manager’s Reception light food and beverages) in the evening. There is a pool, a wading pool for young children and outdoor barbecue grills with an area where the kids can run around and play. The adults can workout at the onsite fitness center equipped with the latest cardio equipment. These are just some of the many reasons why you might want to book your accommodations at this Marriott brand property. Rates start at about $170.00 per night.
All of the above choices have several things in common. They are all within walking distance of Disneyland and they all provide very comfortable accommodations at an affordable price. The best value for the money is the Anaheim Express Inn Maingate. The Hampton Inn gives you a few more amenities than the Anaheim Express Inn for about $50 more per night. Both The Residence Inn and Homewood Suites give you quite a bit more space but charge quite a bit more for a night at their properties.
