Cozy Accommodations In Historic City

Fredericksburg is an amazing place to visit. There is so much history in this area that you could spend a week seeing all the amazing sites. If you are going to center your vacation on Fredericksburg, you will want to have a great place to stay. Luckily, there are several special places that will make a vacation in Fredericksburg something that you won’t soon forget.

The Richard Johnston Inn Bed and Breakfast  has a phenomenal location right on Caroline Street. It makes visiting the sites easy on foot or the trolley tour begins nearby. There are several restaurants within an easy walk as well as lots of antiques stores. The inn itself is charming and the innkeeper, Bonnie, is delightful and a great cook to boot. The house has a long history and was originally constructed by one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.

During the week there is an extensive continental breakfast with fresh fruit and on the weekends there are cooked dishes added. Either way it is enough to hold you for the day. When it comes to choosing your room, there are differences in size and bathroom configuration. The least expensive of the rooms has a private bathroom located outside the room in the hall. Not to worry, you can wear your robe to make the trip. The rooms themselves have lots of antiques and sweet little treats around the room. There is wireless Internet throughout the house and if you need it a laptop is available in the parlor. There have been stories about a resident ghost  that just adds to the overall appeal of the inn. If you are traveling with your pets, they are welcome here. The innkeeper has a pooch of her own.

The Kenmore Inn  is also a historic building that is a bed and breakfast. Additionally, there is a pub and restaurant and the location is only a few blocks away from all the action. A full breakfast is served every morning until 10am. The inn offers both luxury and deluxe rooms. The luxury rooms are in the original building and deluxe are in a 20th century addition. The rooms are gorgeous and include lots of antiques as well as flat screen TV’s and complementary wireless Internet. Pets are not allowed but well behaved children are more than welcome.

If you happen to be the parents of the rowdy bunch, these two bed and breakfasts are probably not the place that you will be staying. There are however places where you can let your kids be kids. In the historic area there is a Courtyard Marriott Hotel  that will make your children happy with its indoor swimming pool, spacious rooms, sofa beds in some rooms, wireless Internet and mini fridges. Another great option is that local restaurants will deliver to the hotel so if everyone is tired and crabby, you can have food delivered in.

These are just three of the many accommodation options that you can choose when you are visiting Fredericksburg, there are many more. There are places in a variety of price ranges to fit just about any budget.
